Stephen Morton, aka Mortysalt, is a Nashville-based director, photographer, and 13-year veteran of the visual effects industry. As a digital compositor he has contributed to a multitude of high profile film, TV, and commercial projects.
Stephen studied architecture at the University of Florida, graduating in 2008. In the fall of that same year he booked his breakthrough gig as an editor and consultant for the highly-acclaimed architectural visualization house Vyonyx in London, UK.
He spent the next nine years cutting his teeth as a visual effects artist - six years as a generalist with the visual effects and design studio Cantina Creative in Los Angeles, and the remainder freelancing for commercial, TV, and film shops throughout LA, including an in-house compositing position on Netflix’s “Stranger Things 3.”
Stephen continues to freelance from his home studio in Nashville. Most recently he took in-house positions on Amblin’s “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” and MGM/Amazon’s “Road House.”
Stephen also directs video and still photography shoots for various musicians in Nashville, and has even joined a few on the road to shoot BTS and live performance.
Stephen hails originally from Forest Hill, Maryland. He currently resides in Sylvan Park, Tennessee.
